get this 26 oz ribeye
(Thanks, MCA).
Exactly what I got, Spence.
Fantastic dining experience. Great table for two overlooking Harbor, lots of different types of tables/booths as well. The decor and set-up is well done (big private room overlooking S'port Blvd for big parties is available). Great atmosphere, cool vibe (lotta Motown and '50s tunes, which I attributed to Mother's Day), kinda had my head bobbing a bit. Staff was very friendly and helpful (manager coming by to check on us). Just a great location and a fun spot. The bar was nice and had some tables just off the bar. Had a few TVs but not too many so it doesn't look like Remy's downstairs, but still enough to enjoy game.
They bring you great warm/hot seeded bread with soft butter, good stuff. Started with seafood app for two. Came with giant king crab legs (thank you, Sig), shrimp cocktail, and crab claws. Was supposed to have PEI oysters but they were out so they doubled on the 3-bite shrimp. Was practically stuffed on the Bering's candy.
Pretty extensive wine list but she drinks white and I drink red so we never get a bottle. But the red zin I got was excellent (though truth be told, I once went to Fleming's in Sarasota and couldn't tell difference between $50 bottle and $350 bottle).
Bone-in rib eye was well below the medium I ordered but sent it back and it came back perfect. The fact that my waitress (Kristen) looked like a smoking Anne Hathaway with a dash of Menounos and had to come by a few extra times was OK with me. Still, I had a nice sized doggie-bag thanks to the loading up on seafood apps. Steak was great. Got potatoes au gratin for a side, also excellent. Finished with the chocolate molten cake (? on wording) and scoop of ice cream.
One of the better meals/dining out nights I've had in ages. May be awhile before I see Abe or Cap again.
Because of Sunday night res, I got a spot on side street so I didn't see how much they knuckle you for valet.
Needless to say, I highly recommend the latest addition to Boston's steak house club.
