Wow. Another one gone. Wade Belak found dead in Toronto hotel room.

NHL players are drifting dangerously close to the mortality rate found in pro wrestling.
The Orangemen are just a rock-solid, consistent winner that hasn't suffered a losing season since 1968-69.

Not really.

Look at the 1000s of guys not dying young.

That said, shit needs to get looked into.

A well-known scout is insinuating that this may have been a Carradine-type thing.

If true, gonna be interesting to see how it gets covered. Lot of eyes on this one.

Disagree until we know more.

This could very well be three unfortunately timed, distinct incidents (an accidental OD, a suicide, and AEA).

As for Probert, he's a bad example to bring up. He came from a history of heart problems, did probably 100s of lbs. of cocaine (a notorious brain-killer, a fact that is frequently omitted), and essentially played in a different era than these guys---an era, ironically, that isn't seeing its former scrappers drop like flies.

Nilan's basically dead as well.

wrestler deaths rum the gamut of circumstances too. motorcycle crashes, OD's, heart attacks etc.

Um, you're not even close, midd.

I just talked to him the other day (yeah, yeah, look at me) and he's actually doing the best he's been in years.

Good for him. Last time I saw a couple years back he was emaciated and looked like a death pool candidate.

Offseason from hell continues.

KHL plane crashes, whole team killed, including former Bruin Brad McCrimmon (coach) and a few other NHL alumni.

Awful news.

Terrible way to go out. McCrimmon was one tough sumbitch.

Worst day the game has ever seen.

22 NHL teams lost alumni in that accident. Horrific.
