See on one hand I feel like this is "typical Shank" making bold proclamations after 2 pre season games .. trying to piss off the national audience now instead of just the local ...yet on the other hand it my gut tells me most Pats fans on here MCA excluded feel the same way he does..

I like what I have seen thus far. If they can get the run/pass balance like they had the other night they will be hard to beat.
Why wouldn't MCA like this team?

I'm sure he does but he is like me in the sense we don't start saying SB lock because of a win over tampa in august .. he knows this team is 6 years from last SB and 3 since even a playoff win .. what sux about being a pats fan in Brady era is whether its 16-0, 14-2, or 11-5 none of it matters until january . To me 2007 was a once in lifetime season even with the giants loss and Shank comparing this team to that one is silly..

Wouldn't put too much into it. I mean, it's Shank writing about football.

No comments on the team until the season starts. Preseason football is beyond pointless, especially this year.

Only thing I'll take from that game is hammer the under on Tampa wins. I think they overachieved last year and are due to take a major step back especially with Saints/Falcons in their division.

Preseason or not I'm just happy they are trying something, anything, to counter the horrible 3rd down bend bend bend mentality we've seen the past few years. The possibility of having Carter and Ellis on the ends with Haynesworth and Wilfork playing inside is pretty exciting, especially because you know these guys can make the linebackers that much better.

Noticed for the first time tonight how Jack Edwards calls the AL East the "American East". I wonder- Has he been doing this since his Sportscenter days?

I'll give him credit where it's due. That was a good piece, though it was pretty NBA-centric for an NHL column.

I bet this line is going to piss some people off:

I don't trust the [NBA] players' side to make the right choices, because they are saddled with limited intellectual capital. (Sorry, it's true.)
