I think it bothers me more because he was the Commander in Chief. Something about killing, attempting to or even talking/joking about taking out the POTUS bothers me. That patriotism thing I guess.

Occasionally they have these "as it happened" things on some of the history channels that have the actual footage of the Walter Cronkites of the world telling the world what is happening and then announcing President Kennedy's death and for anybody who lived through it they have never forgotten where they were when they heard the news. Like Pearl Harbor before it and the WTC attacks after its seared in the memory.

The position of Connolly in the limo has been well documented but conveniently overlooked by the conspiracy buffs.

As you can see JFK is not sitting directly behind Connolly (as they would have you believe) but instead is situated behind and to the right.

Also and plus, Connolly's seat was lower than JFK's

Sadly, one crazy POS with a rifle was able to take down the POTUS.
It happened then, it happened 4.5 years later with MLK and then two months after that with RFK.

I watched several sniper trained (as was Oswald) soldiers do it on a show years ago. He was in a very good position and had many boxes set up for the perfect shots.

The USS Arizona Memorial is a pretty amazing piece of work. To be just a few feet away from the final resting place of 1100 souls and the place where WWII began for America was pretty moving. The oil still bubbles up out of the wreck too.... My father was just a boy but he always remembered exactly where he was when he found out about the attack and it was just as infuriating for that generation as 9-11 was for ours. There were just a few less cameras @ Pearl Harbor but one of them caught the seminal moment of the tattack, the Arizona catching one in the magazines.
