Agreed. But recall that apparently a former member of the night's watch is now leader of the white's. Creepy dude was saying how they would know how the night's watch fights, so the watch would have to fight like the white's do to throw them off. That's why he was taking a small band as opposed to "400" men to fight them. Hopefully they show that in the next episode.

The former member of the "crows" is leader of the wildings, the white walkers are a totally different thing. The wildings are every living people that live above the wall this includes giants and other weird people creatures.
As for winterfell I will not say who is right but one of you is on the right path.

we have officially left the books. I have no idea what is going to happen now as they have changed a shit load of things. Dragons never get stolen, they cut two pretty important people out of the story.

The battle for kings landing should be epic.
