DJ's @ the Garden had a meteoric two year run. But they're done. New place opening in their spot (the former Hooters location).

I still miss the Irish Embassy.

Really? Weird. I liked that place. It wasn't anything great but they had decent food and decent prices and a decent waitstaff. It always seemed pretty busy as well, except I guess I only went there before or after games so who knows what it was like the rest of the time.

They had a decent run of a Friday night party when there was nothing going on at the garden

New owners are good dudes with lot of bar/restaurant experience in the city. I was looking for a new NS hangout.

DJs is down. Johnny on the side is struggling too. I hate all those places anyway. McGann's might the only place I'll visit in the Triangle.

always so much turnover over there. I used to work on Canal St. and have seen so many new bars/restaurants since then.

The new Condo development is a start, but that area has no identity outside of the Garden when something's not going on over there.

It's not the North End, most people don't quite think of it as the West End.

It's a shame.

Porters has good jerk wings.

Flat Iron makes good drinks.

I usually hit the Sports Grille if I get out of work late and want to watch the game.

Quality meal is slang for eight ball?

The Fours is the best all-purpose spot in the neighborhood.

Sports Grille has the most TVs.

Beer Works is terrible and like eating dinner in a Chemistry Lab.

Grand Canal is underrated.

Hurricane O'Reilly's is for people like Husky.

I do like the occasional Porter's/McGann's visit.
