Bobby Cox would do a lot of the -y nickname stuff as well.

I've never understood the insistence of the baseball nicknames. Hate it.

It's pretty prevalent in hockey too. Most of them just add 'ey' or 'ie' to the last name. Hockey coaches use them all the time because they're talking to the same guys they know and deal with on a daily basis. It's really up to the print reporter how he words it. Audio obviously speaks for itself.

But I think this is just a anti-Yankee thing with GoT.

I could throw a knuckle ball.... unfortunately my coach thought that was a dying pitch so I wasn't allowed to develop it. If you don't see the humor in a 300lb pitcher trying to throw a 55 MPH pitch you are dead.

No, it's an anti-Girardi thing, that I blow out of proportion because he gets on my nerves in general. Nothing to do with Jetes, Jorgee, Swishy, Grandee, Joba-ee and the crew.

Does another completely meaningless gold glove up Jeter's price?

Sick award.

I'm more worried about the years than the money. 3 yrs. is fine by me. I could live with 4. 5+ they better not.
The Orangemen are just a rock-solid, consistent winner that hasn't suffered a losing season since 1968-69.

Well his agents aren't doing a good job of working the media. He's going to come out of this looking pretty stupid- should have taken the 3/45 and spent his entire press conference talking about team, staying loyal to one team, etc.
