That's what I've been doing from the get-go. First box, the Orbiter, was shit and didn't last long. Had to buy #2 (Sportster) but it came with the car set-up. #2 wasn't working so had to bring it back for #3 (didn't have to pay), which I've had for a few years now. But they do charge a transfer fee when going from one piece of equipment to another (after it shits the bed).
As for the car thing, I could never get the suction thing to work so I just keep the car input/antenna in a little compartment under the radio.
Definitely one of the best X-mas presents I got.
