Months and months after it would have made for some seriously exciting and meaningful news, Rick Nash has officially been traded to the New York Rangers. Despite Columbus’ constant calls for Kreider and their fake-as-shit, hard-ass, non-relenting stance of franchise solidarity, they happily snapped up the meager package of Dubinsky, Anisimov, Erixon and a future first rounder. Sather with the steal! The man might not be able to navigate his way out of a free agent paper bag but bring him to the trading table and Slats’ll rob your broke ass blind. Don’t get me wrong here – wrapping up Ricky Nash will certainly cause some problems down the road with his massive cap hit, long-term contract and completely unproven playoff reputation, but it’s a huge move that avoids all those nightmarish visions of mortgaged futures and Derek Stepan in Blue Jacket jerseys. Philly can take their Shea Weber offer sheets and shove ‘em where the sun don’t shine. It’s an Atlantic Division arms race, bitches, and we just dropped the bomb.
At this point, I kinda feel bad for that twerpy looking squid Scott Howson. Someone please put this dude out of his misery and hire Pierre McGuire to take his place so we can kill two retarded birds with just one stone. This whole Nash fiasco dragged out so freaking long and in the end, he’s getting peanuts for his prize asset. Dude just got slapped in the face and told he should like it, like some gay nightclub’s resident twink trying to turn the tides on his larger lover and play pitcher for a change. Sather’s a bear not a power-bottom, so you’ll take our table scraps and you’ll thank us for it, Scott. Pathetic general managing at absolutely every turn, and I fucking love it! @Osgood_StoolNYC

As a Flyers fan I can honestly say that fucking sucks. Trading Neil and Big Cat for Nash would be a bigger payoff for the Blue Jackets than what they got.

Clean up the writing. Can’t even understand what you’re trying to say

fucking highway robbery. doesn’t seem like a prototypical tortorella player though

FLEECED the Blue Jackets. Well done Sather. Now get Doan and ill be happier than a pig in shit.

NY Rangers are going to the finals this season. We needed his scoring presence…..Nash has NEVER had a set up guy, let alone someone like Richards…

BRING ME THE CUP MOTHER FUCKER!

Did gary bettman make this deal or did gary bettman make this deal? He continues to try and make the northeast the face of the NHL by shoving the same 4 teams down our throats. Now he’s putting the league’s best in the more marketable of jerseys. What a joke. Columbus asks for the fucking world in return and end up getting brandon dubinsky? Absolute joke.
newyorktrash12 says at July 23, 2012 at 3:56 pm
NY Rangers will still choke when it comes to the playoffs. Rangers are a bunch of fags
hocke4607 says at July 23, 2012 at 4:07 pm
Erixson is very good. He’s the center piece of this deal.
viva la new york says at July 23, 2012 at 8:14 pm
Well Glen Sather just when I thought you couldn’t get any dumber, you go and do something like this… and totally redeem yourself!
dydjsix says at July 23, 2012 at 4:28 pm
a lot of expensive scorers and no grinders. does this really sound any different to rangers fans than the past 18 years? enjoy the 1 seed and a 2nd round exit guys.
dydjsix says at July 23, 2012 at 4:30 pm
also enjoy watching lundqvist walk or hancuff you for the next decade in 2 years now that youve aquired nash’s contract. and you thought the gaborik contract was bad?
gmen9892 says at July 23, 2012 at 4:32 pm
Grinders are a lot easier to find than elite scorers dydjsix. Rangers added a Top 5 talent and made it to the ECF last year. Not sure how that works out to being worse than last year.
gmen9892 says at July 23, 2012 at 4:34 pm
Furthermore:
Rick Nash’s cap hit $7.8 million.
Artem Anisimov, Brandon Dubinsky and Tim Erixon: $7.825 million
newyorktrash12 says at July 23, 2012 at 4:38 pm
I love how rangers fans think Lundquist will have another great yr like the one he just had. It aint gonna happen. He will prolly get hurt or have a down year. and when your team cant score goals, it all equals one thing….ur gonna suck
revisisland44 says at July 23, 2012 at 4:39 pm
pretty pathetic over there in ranger land huh? going bonkers over steve nash? 50 point scorer who’s about to sandusky the shit outta ur salary cap. weak sauce, youll be lucky if u finish 3rd in the division.. wonder what sweater king-win-nothing will be wearing in a at the end of next season. enjoy the 1994 vhs tapes
revisisland44 says at July 23, 2012 at 4:43 pm
@gmen did u just refer to rick nash as a top 5 talent? what fucking planet do rangers fans live in
waz06 says at July 23, 2012 at 8:46 pm
Ranger haters make no sense. From the top down they epitomize the grinding mentality thanks to Tortorella. Lundqvist has been one of the best goalies in the league since his debut, starting 7 straight seasons with at least 30 wins. This trade is a steal, and the cap hit is basically non existent. Not to mention they’re still $10 mill under the cap and still in the hunt for Shane Doan
newyorktrash12 says at July 23, 2012 at 4:54 pm
be happy u got a 220lb slow offensive player in rick nash. he couldnt even lick the dog shit off the bottom of claude giroux’s shoe
gmen9892 says at July 23, 2012 at 4:57 pm
What a surprise, we got Philly and Devils fans hating on him. Guy has averaged 32 goals a year over his career without ever having a legit center.

Missed you Ossy
elcunado says at July 23, 2012 at 5:05 pm
wait now were getting criticized for not having grinders when all we had to begin with was grinders? and hank doesnt need to have another all time great season, its not like he hasnt had other Vezina worthy years before ’11-12
dstewart1980 says at July 23, 2012 at 5:10 pm
@gmen – agreed. Lets also not forget Philly fans are of course going to hate on us – - Because the cant beat us. NOT ONE win against the Rangers last year. Just constantly bitch slapped….
dydjsix says at July 23, 2012 at 5:15 pm
im just saying all you’ve got is a lot of high paid figure skaters now instead of real meat and potatoes kinds of players. which is nice in the regular season, sure, but when the playoffs come and these guys collapse under pressure again, i dont think you guys are going to be throwing a parade. i mean gaborik and richards were just aces in the hole when you needed them to be this past postseason, right? now you throw a guy into the new york media mix whose been dealing with no pressure for the past few years in columbus? plus you’re all banking that lundqvist will have the same season he did last year. goalies like that don’t put up those numbers consistently. (see miller, ryan; thomas, tim; fleury, marc-andre; kipprusoff, miikka just to name a few over the past couple of seasons). im not saying you shouldnt be happy about the trade. just that it doesnt change the fact that you arent at a stanley cup appearance level.
elcunado says at July 23, 2012 at 5:25 pm
i swear there are complete idiots on this site. find me a bad season from Lundqvist. and once again rangers have plenty of jam and now we added much needed scoring. anyone who disagrees with this please just drown yourself
stamkos says at July 23, 2012 at 8:00 pm
Coming from a Flyers fan, this is a great move for the Rags. However, it’ll be interesting to see how Nash handles being in NYC. Keep in mind he’s never played under scrutiny like this before…Nash is known as a big party-er and has never taken the game very seriously. I think that will change, but it’s not a given. That being said, Nash is by far the coolest player in the league, guy just boozes and dangles all day everyday.

Great signing however, I think I heard the same banter when you signed richards last season… Your batsh$& crazy if you think this signing is 1/10th the weber deal if it goes through as expected. #flyers

@newyorktrashtalk I love how youve just been talking to yourself this whole day. NYR are going to be an absolute powerhouse next year. Nash is going to kill it out there.
