And The Core 4 Is Officially The Core 3

Its a rare feat to be able to watch a living legend ride off into the sunset folks. And its an even rarer feat to watch a living legend ride off into the sunset as he leaves a gaping hole in his home grown team, but that’s neither here or there right now. Because yea, no shit one of the best lefties in Yankee history would fit in perfectly in that joke of a rotation the Yankees have right now, but I’m not mad at Andy Pettitte. How the hell can anyone be? Guy has delivered so many big games and been there for so many big moments, he deserves to go out on his terms. If you’re a Yankee fan in your 20s like me, you’ve literally grown up watching Andy become one of the most dependable and most clutch starting pitchers in baseball history.
Bottom line, Andy Pettitte is one of the few people in this world who doesn’t need to lie on his resume to make himself look good. He was on 8 World Series teams. Won 5 rings. 240 regular season wins. More playoff wins than anybody. Picked runners off like a motherfucker. Don’t care who you are or what team you root for, any starting pitcher would jizz in their pants to have a career like Andy’s. Is he a Hall of Famer? Probably borderline at best. But all I know is that Yankee baseball just won’t be the same without that NY hat pulled halfway down his eyeballs and a mean mug stare down to home plate before every pitch.
Farewell Andy. Thanks for the memories.
Now, its time to step it the fuck up Ivan Nova.
can camels ride off into the sunset? Someone rides them off into the sunset.
As a Sox fan, nothing but respect for Pettitte. Certainly glad to not have to face him anymore.
ROIDS!
ditto LikeButter. It takes a real dude to admit when he’s done (ahem Favre).
See you on CourtTV with Roger
liked Petit, hate Scott
isn’t the term “riding off into the sunset” reserved for players who retire immediately after a championship season? didn’t happen
He also admitted to taking HGH… what a “legend.”
no way you typed “time to step up Ivan Nova” with a straight face
The main reason he is retiring is because he is the star witness AGAINST Clemens this summer…..doubt he wanted that shit weighing on him while he was pitching.
Either way, he was good, he cheated like the rest of them and was a Yankee. So FUCK him.
Blyleven got in on his 14th ballot. His numbers were much better than Pettite’s (and he didn’t cheat), so my guess is andy won’t be getting into the HOF.
Wins: Blyleven: 287 Pettite: 240
ERA: 3.31 3.88
Strikeouts: 3701 2251
No-hitters: 1 0
Cy Youngs: 0 0
Pettitte might be one of the few people in the world than can go schnoz to schnoz with Portnoy.
Old39, really? You do know Clemens is being investigated for perjury, not actually taking roid right? I’m pretty sure Pettitte admitted he used it (one of the only to just openly say it). I don’t even like baseball, but you’re an idiot.
He was on 8 World Series teams*
Won 5 rings*
240 regular season wins *
*HGH
Scott 2 blogs today? youre moving on up to the east side
FUCK OSGOOD aka wannabe 610
Oh well, there’s another Bazillion dollars down a rat hole. . . oh well, time to dig another rat hole.
too bad pettite did HGH when it wasn’t illegal in the MLB and when he was on his way to the astros you tools
And the yellow skin from HGH only an Asian envy…….
your a pussy scott. the yankees will suck with or without andy penis nose this year
Get real, the rotation hopes stop at Sabathia. Glad you got that deep bullpen, they’re working 4+ innings at least 3 times a week now.
nice post scotty- to the point and the truth. can’t be mad at andy, he is the man and i’m going to miss him, esp his mean mug look. no matter how nice he is and what a jesus lovin southern boy he is that look would make me shit my pants at bat. also respect like butter/buzz. hes like pedroia to me.. competitor, great player, and i will be happy as shit when the yanks don’t have to face him anymore.
can’t wait for tampajack to join the idiot parade of HGH comments. because HGH is what made him a good pitcher, obviously.
Always liked Petite. I am pretty sure 90% of MLB has at one point in their career taken a performance enhancing substance.
