NBC – Local and national military and police agencies will be staging a biochemical response exercise at Penn Station Friday night. US Marine Corps, US Navy Corpsmen, NYPD, FDNY and OEM are participating in the full-scale disaster and terror drill, beginning at 9 p.m. and ending at 3 a.m. Saturday, officials said. As part of the exercise, there will be a staged detonation on the train tracks at Penn Station, and Marines will bring up mock casualties — volunteers simulating injuries — and set up decontamination tents outside at street level.

I’m pretty sure that every time I go to Penn Station it’s a disaster drill. Never on time, never know where to go, always get sidetracked by all the fast food spots. There’s that asshole beating on a drum so it amps up the atmosphere. You have to wait until they announce what track your train is on and then there’s a mad rush of people down the stairs. No matter where you’re going there’s always a gross Long Island girl giving you a headache with her accent. It’s chaos. Pure chaos.

Here’s my question though. Who are the people that volunteer to be mock casualties for a disaster drill on a Friday night? That’s gotta be a very strange kind of person. Just give up your Friday night so you can play dead on the filthy train platforms and streets of New York City. Those people’s lives are the real disaster. ZING!
