Bart Scott Declares “Media Mutiny”
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Everyone in the New York Jets’ locker room was smiling after Sunday’s 48-28 feel-good whipping of the Buffalo Bills — everyone except linebacker Bart Scott, who was steaming, then venting about the Jets being portrayed by the media as a summer-long circus. “I’ve got a media mutiny,” Scott said when approached by USA TODAY Sports at his MetLife Stadium locker. You mean a media boycott? “Yeah, a boycott.” Can you explain why? “You guys treat us like we’re a (bleeping) joke,” Scott said. “You all want us to feed your papers, but then you all talk (bleep) about us. So why would I want to give you all quotes to sell papers with if you all treat us like (bleep)? That doesn’t make sense. “You all talk stuff about us, and then when we win you flip the story. You all win either way.” So you’re boycotting the media because you take exception to the circus references? “I’m just going to be quiet,” Scott said. Even coming off a great all-around, season-opening team performance in all phases? “You’re all going to screw us next week or the week after. You’re all going to get us eventually,” Scott said. With that, he picked up his travel bag and was gone.
Well I’m happy someone is saying it. Ordinarily its an idiot like me, and not someone in the locker room, but I kinda like it. I like that Rex and Sanchez are saying all the right things. I love that they are quiet and humble and stay above the mudslinger from hacks at the Post and News and every blog on the internet. But I also like that theres someone within the franchise who’s not afraid to tell the media to shut the fuck up. Because you know its what everyone is thinking. You don’t think Mark Sanchez wants to tell these reporters to suck his dick? You think Rex doesn’t wanna give everyone a DX crotch chop and tell the world “I told you so?” every time he’s been right? Everyone on this team despises the media at this point, and Bart Scott has decided he’s gonna be the voice that lets them know. Provides a nice balance and reminds the media that they’re all bloodsucking slugs and the worst people on earth. And who better to take on this role than the most militant black man since Malcolm X?
Although Bart, this was the worst media boycott ever. This was like the best quotes ever for the media. But whatever! Its all about the message.
One win against the fucking Bills and now you’re going to pretend like you weren’t shitting on this team all summer? The Jets are still a joke. One win against a bottom feeder team doesn’t change that.
Do you even read what you write? “Every time Rex is right” What? Everything he says and predicts is wrong. Every time. This team has begged for attention the last 3 years for reasons other than winning. Then they fall apart and when everybody is laughing at them, they all of a sudden dont want the attention. There’s a reason why you guys are the laughing stock of the league. Nobody can take you seriously.

Pretty sure Rutgers beat the Bills last year. This is what makes the Jets a joke, not their mediocre record but their premature sense of validation.
Might as well be a preseason win. Jets just have to realize they bring this all upon themselves, the media doesn’t bring the circus to town, they do.

good job Jets, blame the media for your locker room imploding last year (and guys going to the media to talk about it), your coach failing on 3 straight SB win guarantees, your front office bringing in a sideshow BACK-UP QB to grab headlines and holding a press conference for it, and one of your cornerbacks coming out and saying he would be the 2nd best WR on your team. yes, its all the media and their agenda of shitting on the Jets. just imagine if the Jets actually brought this on themselves????
