Deaf Sign Language Translators Need To Cool Their Fucking Jets
Whats with these cocky ass sign language people these days? It started with Mayor Bloomberg’s Sign Langauge Sensation Lydia Callis. Then we had that bro who looked like Don Flamenco signing the National Anthem at the Super Bowl. And then just last night Feitelberg blogged that chick who looked like Morty Seinfeld signing at Menino’s blizzard press conference. All these fuckers think they’re the belle of the ball! The star of the show! Well guess what you deaf assholes, it ain’t all about you! Fuck you and the deaf horses you rode in on. Some people are trying to listen to Bloomberg to find out pertinent information after our city was decimated and nobody can take their eyes off the asshole who’s putting on a puppet show with her hands. I’m trying to time the National Anthem for the over/under and I’m losing count because this guy is doing his little deaf people dance the whole time. Does anybody in the city of Boston have any information on the impending blizzard of doom? Probably not because all they could focus on was the old broad up there signing like shes was a rockstar at some big old deaf concert.
I miss the good old days when deaf people just had to sit there and be idiots because they didn’t know whats going on because they don’t have ears or whatever. Like you realize what this means now, right? Deaf people basically control the fate of the world as we know it. If this blizzard annihilates the Northeast find the nearest deaf person because they are the ones with all the knowledge. They are the only ones that know what to do. Because every person with ears missed out on disaster protocol because they were to busy watching someone play fucking charades at every press conference.

did the Hondo’s give up so you’re trolling deaf people now? I like it.
Spot on with the Morty comparison. Someone needs to get her a #1 Dad shirt
yawn. KFC just trolling for comments and controversy now after his little marketing campaign against the hondos. get back to the basics.
doesn’t closed captioning make these guys irrelevant?
Or is the illiterate deaf population larger than i think?
The “all people who know how to do sign language are deaf” logic is pretty flawless….
Whats next.. spoken news conferences for the blind people?!?! White male with 20/20 vision and perfect hearing cant catch a break these days.
I thought she was throwing a fit.
I agree. Closed caption is more than enough for these brail reading deafies. Fuckin hate deaf people so much when closed captioning pops up by accident and you waste 6 minutes of your life figuring out how to turn it off through the tv menu.
World War III: Hondos, Blindos and Deafs vs KFC
Even deaf people have to be distracted by how dumb these people look.
WTF??? I’m pretty sure that translator just told me to give my dog anal!? Well, if Bloomberg says so.
@Rex The comment is hilarious, but you’re aware braille is for blind people, not deaf people right?
hey dick head, the reason these fuckers go so hard is because the deaf ppl u mention are not able to hear or understand accents or stress on words. for example if i were to say “i am going to fucking kill you” over the phone and I said it with a serious tone you would understand how serious I am.
for deaf people, they dont have this ability, so a lot of their language also includes animation, some signs for words are very animated via the face, hand or through body language.
Do some research before you make fun of down syndrome kids next for being to excited at the special Olympics in stead of jerking off into a napkin all day.
@soir03 is a hardo deaf guy…
KFC, the people signing are not deaf. They have to hear what is being said in order to sign it. Retard….change the title for the blog so it makes sense.
Highly offensive. Besides, the interpreter is NOT for TV purposes. Deaf people don’t ask for that, closed captioning is perfectly fine. Have you guys ever considered there could be deaf people in the audience where the person is speaking? Those people do not look dumb, it’s how they communicate. Their facial expressions are their ways of emphasizing the things they are saying. Just like how hearing people use different tones or stress what they’re speaking. Instead of being ignorant, please be educated.
Besides, braille is for blind people. Deaf people CAN read.
And something must be wrong with your TV if captions pop up randomly. It doesn’t happen and if it does, they can be turned off in seconds if you know what you are doing.
Wow, I’m amazed. So basically, you are saying that all people have ADD and short attention span due to not being able to pay attention to the speaker. I feel sorry for you. You remind me of those Talisman men who would banish women from their mosque just because they are distracting. Indeed, we live in sad world where people like you complain when your people already had everything in world for several thousand years. Rest of minority people would have to suffer while you enjoy all luxuries you can have. Women finally got their rights around 90 years ago. Deaf people gained their rights around 23 years ago. You know what sad thing is, Deaf people are still fighting for their rights. They struggle to get jobs because of people like you. Not everyone follows Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 where deaf people deserve to have interpreter for job interview, hospital visit, convention and etc. People who decided to have interpreter on television deserve round of applause. They knew knowledge and translation is very important. Apparently something that is not value to you. If we all had it your way, then there will be no foreign language. No accessibility for minorities.
As for those ignorant commenters in this thread, you and this guy who started this thread made me wonder how the hell your parents raised you. Also this terrifies me because apparently America did not do good job in educating people like you. Don’t get me wrong, I am a proud American Citizen but if we have more people like you then America is doing something wrong. I’m going to educate you guys little bit.
First of all, deaf people cannot read braille. Whoever commented that, I bet you feel very smart right now? Blind people can hear, so why would they need braille on television.
Second, English is second language for deaf people. Their first language is America sign language (ASL). ASL is not a written language. It has their own grammar structure along with facial expression and gestures. It is easier for deaf people to understand the tone of speech in ASL.
Again, I am dumbfounded that you people would easily blame deaf people for those closed caption when you can turn off with remote. You know a little button with letters CC on the remote, press the button then voila! Closed caption is gone. I know that’s a wonderful magic right there! Now, I am pretty sure some of you guys have old television. Fear not! There is a perfect solution for that. First, you need to access the menu on television then find setting. Find those words that might say closed caption or those letters CC then press to turn it off. Again, I know it is amazing how we humans can create those wonderful magic where we can turn things on and off.
Last, crybabies read this carefully. Learn how to pay attention, learn how to press a button to turn off close captions, and research about deaf history before placing blame and complain. If this is hard for you people, then there is no hope for you people who cannot function in this world.
As an interpreter, I watched the videos above and found little wrong with them. The expression for the most part was appropriate. I agree with Philliesheart and what was written in his/her response. Why should someone be excluded from the joy of our National Anthem. The singer on stage was belting it out passionately. The interpreter only rendered visually what was happening acoustically. Should he have signed small without expression? By no means! Deaf people are American citizens. Giving them the pleasure of experiencing the awe inspiring national anthem that gives us hearies such a feeling of national pride and connection too other fellow citizens is absolutely the right thing to do. As for captioning: in addition to what Philliesheart said, captioning is sometimes not effective. They miss words, misunderstand what is being said, and leave gaps in sentences that really make it hard to understand…or is at best confusing and annoying. Sometimes speech to caption is used. Lets pause and think about it. If you use SIRI on your phone or other speech recognition tools, you KNOW sometimes SIRI does not get it right. So using CC (especially for emergency situations) is less than ideal. I applaud those who sought out interpreters to provide equal access for both pleasure and informative situations. For those commenters who left offensive statements, Im implore you to be mindful that you share this planet with people who are different than yourself. Make room in you thinking for those differences. You will be all the happier for it and the world will thank you.
I loved the brail comment..You just demonstrated how fucking retarded you are!
You can tell a person is special in the head when they post something like KFC posted. The only way to deflect his psychotic symptoms is to blame it on some other group and hope that his fireworks of words is bright enough to sway and blind the crowds away from him.
But once all this is done…he is still left standing, looking like a hard on dick of an idiot with no where to hide.
Have fun, I will be spreading this across my Deaf network.
