NY Post - Lawrence Tynes is glad Jets special teams coach Mike Westhoff doesn’t have Steve Weatherford to kick around anymore. The Giants kicker yesterday blasted Westhoff for taking shots in September at Weatherford, the former Jets punter now booting ably for Big Blue. “Unbelievable. That’s the worst statement of the year by any coach in this game,” Tynes said. “How could you say that? You just broke an NFL record for your team and you throw him under the bus. We’re glad to have him. Mike Westhoff is a great coach, but I certainly think he missed on that one.” Westhoff has said following Weatherford’s departure from the Jets that Weatherford fared poorly down the stretch last year. “There were times when he just didn’t do the job,” Westhoff said. “I was looking to get better than what he did at that point in time. … Wasn’t good enough, in my opinion. It wasn’t. I don’t want to be 23rd in the NFL. That’s where he was.”

Aside from Eli and maybe JPP or Cruz, Steve Weatherford was the best, most consistent player for the Giants all season. Not to mention he was a HUGE part in beating San Fran the other night. Yeah he’s just a punter but going from Matt Dodge to him is like upgrading to a Porsche from a unicycle. Except not even a unicycle is retarded enough to punt the ball right to Desean Jackson in the last seconds of a big game so maybe that’s not the best example?

Either way, all that matters now is Steve Weatherford and the Giants are going to the motherfucking Super Bowl.

PS- I’ve watched that GIF about 500 times.
