Hell fucking yes, DEVILS!  After a tough loss in game one at the Garden, Jersey’s team rebounded with a hard fought effort and now leaves New York with a split decision after their 3-2 win. While we didn’t dominate the entirety of the game, the Devils certainly maintained long stretches of sustained pressure in the in the offensive zone and kept the Rags on their toes.  Everything they did wrong in game one was corrected on Wednesday, and the result was three well earned goals that even a hot Lundqvist couldn’t keep from touching twine.

The huge adjustment our Devils made to solve the Rangers’ shot-blocking was a tip-everything-you-can-at-the-net strategy, and boy did it pay dividends. Aside from Kovy’s absolute snipe, New Jersey’s other two goals by Carter and Clarkson were both the result of two beautiful deflections.  It looks like the only way to throw Lundqvist off his game while also being the most effective method of getting pucks on net because every direct shooting lane is clogged with bloody Rags (obviously discarded from Tortorella’s perpetual menstruation).

So now we take it back to the Rock where the Devils came alive in a big way against Philadelphia, feeding of the energy of an excited home crowd.  Osgood might expect the crowd to be a sea of blue on Saturday afternoon, but our red-alert is in full effect and the #NoBlue campaign is working hard to keep out the trash.  I fully expect New Jersey to come out hard in game 3 playing the same type of hard-nosed effort that they displayed save for twenty minutes in New York.  As long as they keep playing their game and Marty keeps making highlight reel saves to keep them in it, the Devils have a great shot to take game three and lead the series for the first time.
