Dexter Season 7 Trailer Is Out – Do People Care?
Dexter used to be one of, if not my favorite TV show out there. Season 1 with the Ice Truck Killer and Season 4 with Trinity were two of the best seasons of TV I’ve ever watched. But after the disaster season with Julia Stiles and season 6 with Tom Hanks’ kid, I think I’m just over it. I mean don’t get me wrong, I’ll still watch season 7 because an hour of Dexter on Showtime is better than anything I could watch on a Sunday night. But like I mentioned on my last episode of KFCRadio, I think the show peaked after the season with Trinity. It was just the perfect 12 episodes to sum up Dexter Morgan. John Lithgow as Trinity was literally perfect. The only adversary who could top Dexter as a serial killer. An unbelievable cat and mouse chase between them all season. Very limited side stories from the other characters that didn’t suck. And a surprise twist at the end that blew your dick off. Just a perfect streamlined version of Dexter. Its a shame that it came in only the 4th season or else it would have been a phenomenal series finale. I liken it a lot to Season 4 of Californication. That season with the rape trial was the epitome of Hank Moody and his family. It almost felt like there was nothing more to explore in either character, Dexter or Hank Moody, after those seasons.
But I will say, season 7 has me intrigued now that the cat is out of the bag with Deb. Its something that inevitably needed to happen, and another season of Deb blindly missing clues and Dexter escaping by the skin of his teeth again would have been annoying and absurd. So it will be interesting to see where they take it right off the bat with season 7. I think its pretty much make or break for the rest of the series with me though. If they do something corny and make Dexter and Deb some sort of duo or they keep exploring that ridiculously creepy angle where Deb thinks she’s in love with him, I think it could be the last nail in the coffin for Dexter for me. Or is it the last coffin in the nail? Not sure.

You have a point in that the Ice Truck Killer and Trinity make the others look crappy… but I still love that shit. TV sucks for the most part.
Any good story it must have a beginning, a middle and an end. Most series can’t survive past five seasons and Dexter is a perfect example. Instead of giving it a good ending they’re just gonna keep running it into the ground. It’s the same thing over and over.
That’s why I’m glad this is the last Sons of Anarchy season, can’t wait to see the ending.
@pres-jr very true. It does feel like its getting run into the ground a bit. Still very interested in what they do with Deb catching him
its probably good that they couldn’t give two shits about what you think huh kfc? and that the shows ratings have continuously gone up can attest to that. you cant make every season like the trinity killer. all this shit theyr doing is to be different so they can attract open minded individuals unlike yourself. the writers are great and its the beginning of the end so pull the cock out of your ass and enjoy the last two seasons and see what happens. btw, sons of anarchy is absolute shit.
Agree with you and your chins, Clancy. I’m gonna still watch, but I’m not happy about it. There was a time it was easily the best show, period…then Julia Stiles happened.
Disagree with you KFC, the Trinity Killer was the big moment in the direct middle of the series, the creators of the show have already mentioned that they have a semi-set path for all the characters and that Season 8 is the last season. So this season coming up has a lot of interesting twists and might not be the best but it’s more likely going to set up for a better finale.
Last 2 seasons of dexter were full of gaping plot holes that were left untouched, and made me feel like an idiot for watching the show. The characters have mostly grown tired (why does Batista get so much airtime?) and the “bad guys” get worse every year. I will watch, like you, but I wonder why they dragged the series on like this. That is why I am very happy that Breaking Bad is calling it quits after this year. Shows with rediculous plots that try to be believable only have so long of a shelf life, after a while you end up either repeating yourself or becoming too far fetched.
I thought they renewed Sons of Anarchy till season seven? They definitely have to end that show soon. Breaking Bad is definitely the best show on TV, and the fifth season is going to be the last season (although they are doing 22 episodes this year).
i literally spit out my coffee and i wasn’t even drinking any when deb walked in on dex offing hank’s kid. jaw was dragging on the ground for an hour. This season should be interesting in how they go about it
If the very first thing that happens is dexter hucking a knife into Deb’s mouth i will be SO HAPPY. Fuck deb shes the worst part of every episode
