Eli Complaining That He’s The Third Most Talked About Quarterback In His Own City

ESPN – Eli Manning just won his second Super Bowl MVP and is set to host “Saturday Night Live,” but the New York Giants quarterback says he’s behind Jets signal-callers Mark Sanchez and Tim Tebow when it comes to popularity in New York City. In a panel discussion over this past weekend with Fox News host Shepard Smith at an Ole Miss event honoring the former Rebels quarterback, a playful Manning cracked about his new standing among New York quarterbacks after Tebow arrived in a trade in late March. “New York Giants just won a championship yet I’m still the third most-talked-about quarterback in my own city,” he deadpanned as the crowd erupted in laughter in a video posted on FoxNews.com. Manning often says he doesn’t pay attention to what is written or being said about him or the Giants in the media, but the intense public scrutiny regarding Tebow’s arrival and Sanchez’s reaction to the move has been nearly impossible to avoid.
I guess Eli has forgotten about the first 4 years of his career when he was roasted by the media every second for his interceptions and his “Eli face” and he’s aww-gee-shucks demeanor, huh? Bro this is New York City. Silence is just about the rarest commodity in this town. Silence in the world of New York sports is a badge of honor. Its probably more valuable than the two rings on your finger and the 2 trophies in your case. Silence from the media and the haters is only reserved for the all time greats who earn it. The only other guys I can really think of that have earned that prize is Jeter and Mariano. Guys like you three have graduated from the back page banter of the Post and the News. Leave that to the Sanchez’s and Tebow’s who haven’t proved enough yet to be above reproach.
So take it as an accomplishment, Eli. Nobody is taking about you because their ain’t nothing else to say except “He’s a future Hall of Famer with 2 rings and 2 MVP trophies from 2 of the biggest Super Bowl wins in NFL history.” It gets boring to repeat that over and over and over again.
Its that time again, folks! Need to find a new Giants writer. Things have worked out great so far with Strasser the Pizza Boy Yankees blogger. He’s exactly what we were looking for. Diehard fan, understands the Barstool sort of humor. Blogs pretty much every single day. Kills it on Twitter. So prospective Giants writers, follow in his footsteps. You have a brand new blueprint right in front of you. Should be easy. Same as last time – set up an actual blog like Giants.barstoolsports@blogspot.com or whatever. Doesn’t matter what the name is. Just make sure its an actual website, start blogging like its Barstool, and email giantswriters@gmail.com with your submission

2 years as an elite player and the rest average/above average makes someone a Future Hall of Famer?
crybaby
uconn- the Hall of Fame argument for Eli is assuming that he’ll finish his career strongly and continue to put up good numbers. I dont think anyones saying if he retired tomorrow he’d be HoF.
Holy shit, my QB looks like EP.
Clancy, my submissions are on nyc.barstool.com
two of the biggest superbowls in nfl history? i can see 2007 but if you consider this year’s super bowl as one of the biggest in the history of the league you are out of your mind
this is a really good article and true as hell
haha can’t wait for all the mad jet/pats fans in this thread. He fucking owns you.
Well the other two get talked about because they suck, and Eli gets talked about because he’s Elite. I’d let the bums have all the headlines too
It’s called having a sense of humor. If only KFC had one.
Pretty much there’s less to talk about with Eli you know what your gettin with him and the giants, but the Tebow/Sanchez and jets is such a shit show you could talk all day about them
He was joking, chill. he doesnt care if people are talking about him
Don’t worry Eli. there is still plenty of talk about you……..and what a festering CUNT you are!!!
Dude has two rings, the most hated man in Patriot Nation. He is also one of the highest paid QBs in football.
Be grateful the roaches and leeches in sports media leave you alone. They are annoying as fuck.
He should worry about it as he’s the only one that can actually play the game.
And hell, he’s only the third best quarterback in his own family! Get over it Eli.
you forgot about Messier bro. Dude can do whatever he wants in this town for delivering the Cup.
KFC is such an asshole
Sorry Messier is probably underneath Mike Piazza who didn’t bring shit along with Patrick Ewing.
you should look for a new jets blogger because you fucking suck
“OK, first, pawts easily a Pats fan. Hey Bro, remember when Eli won the superbowl twice? that makes him a winner, not a cunt.
second, 5minutemajor, Archie – 0 rings, actually “He retired having never played on a team that notched a winning record or made the playoffs” – Peyton, 1 ring – Eli 2 rings and younger than all of them. I dont know how bitter you must be toward the Giants, but I would say that Eli has a damn good argument for being the best Manning. So why dont you stop talking out of your ass and sound intelligent.”
bostonwhereretardsflourish — seriously? 1994, “Captain Mark Messier, Come get the Stanley Cup?” “54 Years of Waiting is Finally Over!” ??
Eli looks like Tom Brady before his visit to BALCO.
xlvi - And Dan Marino has zero rings and Bart Starr has five. . . so Bart Starr is always going to be the best QB ever?
xlvi – . So why dont you stop talking out of your ass and sound intelligent.”
When it comes dwn to it, the goal of this league is to win championships. Im not gonna say that Bart Starr is the best QB ever, but he did a hell of a good job winning championships. Dan Marino was a better individual player, however, his knuckles are getting a little cold.
He said this in front of an audience i’d bet the house hes not actually very mad hes not getting talked about. was looking for a laugh and got one from the entire audience
he was making a joke idiots lolol
hahahah jesus KFC he’s fucking kidding
