So ESPN clearly freaked the fuck out yesterday and decided to do a knee-jerk “Top 10 Most Dramatic Sports Moments of all time” list which may actually turn out to be “The Most Dramatically Embarrassing List in the History of Lists”.    Here’s the list from last night’s Sportscenter:

No. 10 – Duke over Kentucky – Shot from Laettner
No. 9 – Shot Heard Round the World - Giants win the pennant!
No. 8 - Kirk Gibson – I don’t believe what I just saw!
No. 7 – Immaculate Reception
No. 6 - Bill Buckner
No. 5 – USA Women rally to defeat Brazil.
No. 4 – Joe Carter homer for Toronto to win World Series
No. 3 – Bill Mazeroski homer for Pittsburgh to win World Series
No. 2 – NC State with Jimmy V
No. 1 – Miracle on Ice

To quote Angry Grandpa after the Casey Anthony verdict, WHAAAT!!   Are you kidding me?  Way to take a great game and make it 1000x’s bigger than it actually was.   First of all it was only the quarterfinals.  Second, you can’t possibly put women’s soccer on the same list with the 4 major sports, college hoops and Olympic Hockey.  This is just insanity.  Higher than Kirk Gibson, Bill Buckner and the Immaculate Reception?  Who the fuck made this list, Tony DiCicco?  Might want to relax over there at Bristol.  Take a deep breath, as Herm Edwards would say, ESPN needs a “Don’t Press Send” button on their top 10 lists.  Great game?  Yes. Exciting?  Sure.  But should a women’s soccer game ever be ranked this high on the top 10 most dramatic moments in sports list?

Not even with Gus Johnson on the call…
