The words would be replaced by “parents” in all instances so as not to discriminate against same-sex couples. Catholic groups are enraged, but President Francois Hollande plans to present a draft law to his Cabinet next month. It will also allow gay couples to adopt. ”Who is to say that a heterosexual couple will bring a child up better than a homosexual couple, that they will guarantee the best conditions for the child’s development?” the justice minister asks a Catholic paper.
