Giants Fan Who Won The $50K Safety Bet Donating It All To Charity

TMZ – Just when you wanted to hate the guy for winning $50,000 on a freak Super Bowl bet — Giants fan Jona Rechnitz tells TMZ, he’s donating every last cent to multiple charities … INCLUDING one of Tom Brady‘s choice. In case you didn’t know, Jona — who runs a successful real estate company in New York — hit the JACKPOT yesterday, betting $1,000 on the Giants to score the first points in the big game with a safety. The odds were 50 to 1. Jona tells us, he plans to donate $5,000 to Tom’s charity of choice, and $5,000 to the charities of choice for the Giants defensive linemen who made the safety play. Jona also wants to take Tom out for an all-expenses-paid falafel dinner. As for the rest, Jona says he plans to divide up the balance after taxes … and donate it to a bunch of charities benefiting the less fortunate. Jona says he only makes one bet a year — on the Super Bowl — and this year, it finally paid off.
Shana Tova, Jona Rechnitz! You generous Chosen One. No chance I’d donate this shit to charity. Winning this money on a first score safety bet is proof positive God wanted you to have 50 grand. I don’t know why he’d pick a rich Jewish fella to take home this jackpot and not some lowly smut blogger, but God works in mysterious ways. Bottom line is Jona Rechnitz was meant to have this money. He should do whatever he’d like with it. Give Tom Brady $50,000 to take him and Gisele out to a falafel dinner and take Gisele back to a hotel room afterwards for some classic Brady/Bundchen cuckold action. Then spend 15 minutes of pillow talk bashing Wes Welker and the Pats receivers and send Tom and Gisele on their way to Aruba for their consolation prize losers trip.
And technically thats still donating to charity. Eating 50 grand worth of falafel with Tom Brady and having 50 grand worth of sex with Gisele is like donating to the New York Jets fans charity.
50-1 is a jackpot? Those were shitty odds. I think they are usually 100-1 or 200-1.
Guy got screwed. Don’t reward idiocy.
50-1 is terrible odds for that prop. Before this one that there had only been 6 safeties in Super Bowl history.
Wonder if he will pull a “Scott” and welch on his promise to give his winnings to charity.
besides the game on Sunday, one other super bowl game, out of 45 , had a safety as the first score of the game. 50-1 seems about right.
Nice look Rodney Ruxin.
