ESPN – The New York Jets coach made the dramatic, but expected decision Tuesday, benching the only starting quarterback he’s had in four years. Ryan will give Greg McElroy his first career start Sunday at home against the San Diego Chargers. Ryan is expected to address the media at 4:45 p.m. The decision is a stunning blow to Tim Tebow, the No. 2 quarterback. The organization is concerned about the potential fallout from passing over one of the most popular players in the league, and Ryan may try to find a way to incorporate Tebow into the game plan, a source said.

Well how about that! Lets go with the hot hand! Sure the hand has probably cooled off significantly in the past two weeks that it was Inactive as the season came to an embarrassing end, but whatever. Rex and the guys make the tough decision just in the nick of time to be out of playoff contention but probably win the next couple games and get a shitty draft pick. Thats the sort of forward thinking we’ve all come to expect from the braintrust that is Woody, Rex and Tannenbaum.

Just gotta be the most mismanaged quarterback situation in the history of football. Not like Mark Sanchez was ever gonna be a stud but Jets management absolutely ruined him. Makes the Yankees yo-yoing Joba and Phil Hughes and ruining their careers look like incredible grooming. They destroyed any chance Mark Sanchez had to be the leader of this team – they destroyed Tim Tebow’s “career” and basically banished him to the sidelines – and now they turn to McElroy. Good luck Greg! You have the worst owner, GM, head coach and offensive coordinator in the NFL! That shouldn’t be too big of a deal though.
