Honest Question: Is Anybody Actually Scared of the Red Sox?
Not even trying to be a Yankee fan dick, but the fear that I had in years past before every Red Sox series just isn’t there this season. Especially when the series would be up at Fenway, I used to hope for 1 out of 3. 2 of 3 was a great weekend, and a sweep was unheard of. But now, with that clubhouse in a state disarray, Ortiz calling out the front office for bad signings, and frankly, just a mediocre team altogether, I’m expecting 2 wins minimum.
Am I alone on this, or is all the fear gone from that team? Vote 1 if you absolutely don’t see the Sox as a threat this year; 10 if you think they’ll be there in September.

I am a Red Sox fan and I would not be afraid if I were the Yanks or their fans. The Sox are a joke, Bobby V is a fucking clown, and overall, they’re just not that good. Yanks roll em this weekend.

Honest question, is anybody scared of the Yankees? I don’t see the Sox or Yanks being able to beat Texas or LA in a 7 game series, especially if Texas adds a Hamels/Greinke type.
I am a Sox fan and I wouldn’t be worried, this team might finish 3rd if they have a great 2nd half. Right now they are on pace for 83 wins or something, a cunt hair over .500…not a good look. They need to just clean house and start fresh, i’m afraid it might end the pretend sell out streak though.

I was sick of the Red Sox/Yankees hype while it was still popular. Now it’s just like a movie you’ve seen 164 times. I’ll watch the games but, I won’t answer this assclown’s question, which is the same shit over, and over again.

I think most Sox and Yanks fans have woken up to the fact that MLB’s lack of a meaningful salary cap means that any success that either the Sox and Yanks have is tainted by the fact that they spend way more money than the competition. It’s like playing in a fantasy league in which two guys get to steal players from the other eight guys in the league. Throw in 3.5 hour games every other night and you have a recipe for boring. Most Sox and Yanks fans are just waiting for the Pats and Jets to start training camp.

the sox are OK, but nothing more. they’ll either barely make or barely miss the playoffs, and if they get there, they’re most likely done in the first round. pretty good lineup that SHOULD be very good, but isn’t. and the pitching is a goddamn disaster. i love boston, i love my teams, but let’s take the hometown glasses off. this squad is just OK. ellsbury coming back will help, and i keep hoping for the REAL carl crawford to show up once he’s healthy. but we’re ‘wing and a prayer’ status, let’s keep it real. the yankees have a complete lineup, and the pitching was pretty decent before everyone got fucked up. but i like the yanks’ chances much, much more this year.
