CBC – An ice-skating bear with a visiting Russian circus turned on its trainers on Wednesday, killing the circus director and seriously wounding another man during a rehearsal in the Central Asian country of Kyrgyzstan.  Kurmangazy Isanayev said workers with the visiting Russian troupe managed to drag the two men away from the bear and closed the exits until rescue workers arrived.  The circus’s 25-year-old director, Dmitry Potapov, was reportedly dragged across the ice rink during the rehearsal by the bear before a 29-year-old employee attempted a rescue and was also seriously hurt.  Bears trained to perform on ice skates have been a staple of Russian circus troupes, with some, in a standard stunt, also equipped with hockey equipment, including helmets and sticks

You should know this about me.  In any case of zoo animal vs. trainer/guard/visitor I’m going to side with the animal every single time.  100%.  So in the case of a malnourished mistreated ice skating bear and a zany Russian circus director it’s not even a question who I’m rooting for.  Way to go bear.  Hope you ripped his fucking head off and used it as the puck.  Because if I’ve said it once I’ve said it a million times.  Getting torn to shreds is the risk you run for being an asshole and taking animals out of their homes and locking them up for people to take pictures of and laugh at.  Man I bet this bear just loved figure skating floating around doing triple axels and shit like fucking Brian Boytano.  Definitely better than hanging out chillin with his family in his natural habitat just hibernating all day long.  Bears hate that normal bear shit.  So the fact that this bear was displeased with his captivity and humiliating stage act is a real shocker.  Go figure.  Either way there’s a lesson to be learned here.  You can’t teach an old dog new tricks but you can teach a Russian bear to ice skate then rip your fucking face off your head.
