The Yankees haven't won shit in nearly a decade? Really? You guys are quite jaded after a few winning seasons. Here's some facts, meat ..

AL Pennants:

2003 • 2001 • 2000

AL Division Titles:
2006 • 2005 • 2004 • 2003
2002 • 2001 • 2000

and a World Series in 2000 (and maybe in '09).

.. Act accordingly.

when the bombers won 3 out of 4 (3 straight) we heard the payroll nonsense - then the sox went out and spent more and finally won...but if we win the payroll will come back as a sorry excuse again, ignoring the obvious $ spent to win those 2 titles was my point
and sure you call call it failure but if your at the top every year your bound to experience both - 26-39 WS not so bad i'd say

and im sure you know that the yankees spent $800mil while the city kicked in $220mil in bonds - considering its bonded it makes sense the city would do that since there is no doubt a franchise that successfull will pay back the city with interest soon enough - ie: the city profits off the stadium (used to get $20mil a year in rent)not to mention the parks, etc

bandbox...i wonder how baseball would have reacted if the yanks new stadium had a short wall in left and people were bouncing flyouts off it for doubles? would people protest or call it unique?

(not realizing they have the top 2 payrolls that won WS – in their own definition “bought”

Thats only because the yankees haven't WON shit in nearly a decade..Which by definition makes the yankees epic Failures...

At least bring something credible... Now if you want to talk about that joke of a Publicly Funded Billion Dollar band box you call the New Yankee Stadium, well then we can talk..

finally a Yankee blogger on a "sports" site - still no quality football talk but this is a start!!
welcome your gonna get shit on anyway cuz its mostly bloody rag boston fans here, but the excuses are the same so nothing to worry about - payroll (not realizing they have the top 2 payrolls that won WS - in their own definition "bought"), "recent" championships (they have their own sample size for that), etc..

lets be serious though with our bullpen out pitching Weaver and the Bridge to God secure (not to mention soon to be 8 players with 20HRs and 70 RBIs) do any starters really need more than 5 effective innings for this team? they all ahve the potential to be dominate but in reality they only need to be serviceable and keep this lineup within distance

good first post (but dont bring back the Joba debate)

Holy shit, really? That changes everything. THANKS Jack, you sure cleared up a lot for us idiots - how did you find out that golden nugget of information anyway? Are you a Steinbrenner? A Waldman?

Everyone knows that, and anyone who knows anything about baseball should understand that a 4-inning, 0 BB, 1 ER start after giving up 18 BB & 25 ER in your prior 29 IP is not exactly reason to blog about how he'll come through to cover for CC & Pettitte in the playoffs.

Again, the fact that a Yankee fan chose that as blog-worthy blatantly proves how little faith you all have in Joba and the rest of your staff.

not to totally defend jimmyd here but you idiots do know why Joba only went 4 innings right?? he's on an innings count set by the front office that he cannot exceed before the post season...so even if he was perfect through 4 with 35 pitches thrown he was still coming out of the game
