Jay And Eminem Blow It Out At The New Yankee Stadium’s First Concert
MLB.com – As the clock struck midnight and Monday turned to Tuesday at Yankee Stadium, Jay-Z was leading a capacity crowd in singing Coldplay’s “Viva La Vida,” with the band’s lead singer, Chris Martin, playing the piano. With the crowd hanging on his every word, Jay asked the rhetorical question, “You want to keep going?” Nearly an hour later, Jay-Z and co-headliner Eminem had finally finished giving their audience a night to remember, and there was no question the first concert in the new Yankee Stadium had lived up to expectations.
Today is a big day for me. I’m breaking a rule that I’ve abided by for 25 years. I’m going to Yankee Stadium tonite. I’ve turned down more tickets to Yankees games than you can imagine. Nobody even invites me anymore because they know my policy.I just have no desire to surround myself with the thing that I hate most in this world.
But tonite I break that rule for Jay and Em. I’m pretty comfortable with my decision because its not for a Yankees game. I’m still gonna vomit in my mouth a little bit, but judging by the reactions from everyone at last nite’s show these dudes put on a performance for the ages. Can’t wait to hear Jay do Run This Town. I can picture it now. The beat drops, the crowd goes nuts, and Jay-Z starts rhyming:

I like Eminem and Jay-Z music for the record, and b.o.b is great and he’s opening.. I’m commenting because the prices and seating arrangement for those shows is retarded, you have to pay in the hundreds (from the box office, not even scalped!) to sit miles away in the stands…
the only way i’d go is if I had floor, and even then it wouldnt be worth the 300$+ that must cost
i drove to the detroit show and got general admission field tickets for $100. i was in left-center, the stage was in center. same tix at yankee gaydium were $250 or somethin. plus it was soo much better to hear ‘welcome to detroit city’ than hear ‘ny state of mind’ and have all u ny’ers blow a load everywhere. worth the 13 hr road trip
