NY Post – Derek Jeter’s baseball season may be over, but his romance with Minka Kelly may have only been on temporary hold, Page Six has learned. According to sources, the Yankees slugger flew to Miami on Sunday to meet with the “Charlie’s Angels” star. The two were spotted at Morgans South Beach, “laughing and having a fun breakfast together,” according to spies. “They met up to try and figure it out,” one source told Page Six. “They are trying to see what the future holds for them.” “They may eventually get back together,” the source added. “This was not some sort of final conversation and meeting between them.”  Sources said that Jeter and Kelly had split because they had reached a lull in the relationship and that Minka was spending more time in Miami, and that they did not part because of any other parties. Now that the Yankees’ season is over, perhaps Jeter will have more time to spend with Kelly in Miami. A rep for Kelly declined to comment, and reps for Jeter and Rodgriguez didn’t get back to us last night.

When I was in college I realized the best course of action for a male aged 18-22. Get yourself a girlfriend from October to December. Break up with her for winter break to avoid buying her any gifts on the holidays. Come back for the second semester and get back together with her February 15th, as to avoid any Valentines Day shenanigans and give yourself 1 month single 2nd semester. Date her from February 15th to like April 15th, tax day. Break up with her again so that you have the final month of the year to go nuts, and then you’re free all summer. Come back next school year, and repeat. Just brief three month stints of guaranteed sex and companionship during the cold weather months while avoiding all major holidays. Extra bonus points if her birthday is in the summer because then you avoid that too. Great balance of being single in key months while getting all the benefits of a girlfriend during shitty ones.

Well when you’re Derek Jeter I think you plan your girlfriend time around career milestones and playoff baseball. Like “Welp Minka, I’m sorry. I just got my 3,000th hit in immortal fashion. You know what that means. We’re done. Don’t worry I’ll see you after the playoffs are over.” Lo and behold and early exit for the Pinstripes and Jeter sends Minka a text like “Hey I miss you how have you been?” Minka and Jeter are probably back on now from October through March. Break up in April for the start of the season so he can focus and prove all the haters wrong, get back with her after starting in the All Star game. Just a master of the dating rotation. Brief dating stints that don’t affect his life. Genius.
