Kathie Lee Gifford Just Nailing This Interview Asking Martin Short About His Wife Who Passed Away 2 Years Ago
GossipCop – This is really, really painful to watch. Martin Short appeared on the Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb hour of the “Today Show” on Wednesday to promote Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted, and conversation turned to his children and their jobs. At that point, Gifford said, “And you and Nancy have one of the greatest marriages of anybody in show business. How many years now for you guys?” Unfortunately, Short’s beloved wife Nancy Dolman actually died of ovarian cancer back in August 2010. The actor managed to answer gracefully and without embarrassing Gifford — even after she obliviously followed up with another comment about how “in love” Short and Dolman still are. Wow. Following a commercial break, Gifford acknowledged her mistake and apologized.
There’s nailing an interview and then there’s nailing an interview. Making your guest so uncomfortable that he just plays along with your questions even though the woman you’re rambling about died of cancer 2 years ago is just nailing it.
Tip of the cap to Martin Short for not lighting this drunk broad up on her own show. Showed incredible restraint. I was expecting Martin Short to snap like he did in Captain Ron when he’s finally fed up with Kurt Russel trying to bang his wife and daughter and stuff.
By the way, Captain Ron is like a top 3 movie in the history of cinema.

Ah man I wish the camera was still rolling when they went to commercial, when someone told her she was dead. Martins face at the :18 second mark right before the camera goes off is the same expression the bath salt cannibal had before attracting his victim.
Finally someone other than me thinks Captin Ron one of the best underrated movies of all times. Top 3 all day everyday, twice on Sunday.
