LBSports.com - Many people feel that with Eli Manning is a Hall of Famer now that he’s won two Super Bowl two rings. Former Super Bowl champion and two-time MVP quarterback Kurt Warner says not so fast. “I fully disagree with that,” Warner said during an interview with Burns & Gambo on Sports 620 in Phoenix. “I know we put a lot of weight on championships, and rightfully so. But championships are won as a team. I’m fully convinced of that. You never see one guy — a great player, great quarterback — carry a team through the playoffs and into a Super Bowl and win a Super Bowl that way. I’ve never seen it. You know even in that game [Super Bowl XLVI], it’s 21-17. That’s the game. There wasn’t a quarterback just up and down the field carrying the team. “Yeah, he made the plays down the stretch, no question about it. He’s had two great playoff runs, or his team has had two great playoff runs. But I also look at the rest of his career. I mean, he has an 82 quarterback rating throughout his career. He’s had five of his eight seasons where he has thrown 16 interceptions or more. His completion percentage on his career is 58 percent. “To me, those aren’t Hall of Fame numbers and by that I mean every time you step on the field you’re a game changer, you’re a difference maker. And I don’t believe Eli Manning has been that guy until this year. I think this year is the first time in his career where he’s become that guy.”

Yo Kurt how about you drink a nice warm glass of shut the hell up and go back to bagging groceries in Iowa bro. You’ve never seen one guy carry a team through the playoffs? That’s weird because I’ve seen Eli do it twice now. And I’ll agree that QBs usually get too much of the blame when things go wrong and too much of the credit when things go right. But to argue that  Eli isn’t that great because the rest of his team was good is the dumbest argument I’ve ever heard. Hey Kurt maybe we should take away your rings since you got to play with Torry Holt and Marshall Faulk?

But go ahead and keep doubting Eli Manning. Him and the Giants strive on that shit. It worked 4 years ago. It worked this year. I don’t know when people are going to learn, but the more they doubt him the better he plays. Who do you think led a Giants team destroyed by injuries since Week 1? Who made guys like Jake Ballard and Victor Cruz into household names? Who outperformed Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady in the games that mattered most? Who dropped one of the most perfect throws you’ll ever see into Mario Manningham’s hands to start an epic Super Bowl-winning drive? The further their backs are against the wall, the more Eli gets it done, and the Giants as a team have taken on that mentality and its gotten them 2 rings in the last 4 years.

And if Eli retired today, you’re telling me he’s not in the Hall of Fame? Maybe he doesn’t have the eye-popping stats or dominant seasons, but if you actually watch him play instead of just look at the numbers you know he’s one of the best and 30 years from now, he’ll be remembered that way. He was responsible for one of the greatest upsets in sports history. He just capped off the most clutch season in NFL history with his second ring. He has as many Super Bowl MVP’s as Bart Starr, Terry Bradshaw, and Tom Brady – 2 current Hall of Famers and another no doubter (as long as they don’t ban pussy-whipped cuckolds from getting in). Eli has beaten the best on the biggest stage over and over again, and has proven he’s one of the most clutch, dependable athletes in recent memory along the way. He is a major part of NFL history no matter how you look at it. If all of that doesn’t make him Hall of Fame-worthy than I dunno who the hell is.
