We are writing on behalf of the Major League Baseball Players Association. As you may know, the MLBPA represents the collective interests of current Major League baseball players.
It has come to our attention that some of the player-related materials for sale on your website ( http://nyc.barstoolsports.com/cartny/ ) are unlicensed, and not created by or with the consent of the relevant player, his agent, or anyone here at the MLBPA. This is a violation of player intellectual property rights. In particular, the following products are clear violations:
With this writing, we’d ask that someone on your team take steps to pull down the aforementioned materials without delay and deliver us written confirmation of same.
This email is being sent without prejudice to the rights and remedies at law or equity otherwise available to the MLBPA, its members or agents, all of which are expressly reserved. It does not purport to be a full recitation of the facts related to the subject matter hereof.

Hey Major League Baseball maybe you guys should worry about how the World Series is gonna be watched by like 15 people this year rather than barking up Barstool’s tree about some t shirts? I don’t even know what they are talking about. None of these shirts are even related to Major League Baseball. That “Captain” shirt? My brother is the captain of my beer league softball team. He wears number 2 and he won 5 consecutive league championships from ages 23-27. We created it in his honor. “Enter Sandman” is just a Metallica t shirt. They’re my favorite band. And that Centaur t shirt? I dunno bro, Stoolies like mythical half man-half beast creatures. I’m just trying to make a buck off of these weirdos man. What do you want me to say? Besides, what the fuck is “league policy” when it comes to centaurs?

uh as someone who practices intellectual property law, I can tell you that the shirts are definitely infringing. It’s called right of publicity and has nothing to do with logos, numbers, etc. You can’t profit off of an athlete’s persona without their, or in this case player’s association’s, consent. Too bad, the centaur one is awesome.
