If this had occurred in the biology department or in the history department would Penn State or some other institution step in and punish that specific department? The punishment is so dumb and attacks athletes who had nothing to do with the transgressions that happened at Penn St. Do everything you can to help the victims but these types of punishments help nobody and it is just to make the media happy. I love how much athletes are targeted these days (sarcasm).
Actually fireman5056, it does have something to do with the football team. The school’s senior leadership covered up and ignored reports of child rape to protect Joe Paterno’s reputation and that of their football program, which appears to be not only the most important thing to students of Penn State, but to the people of Pennsylvania (who are now crying that the NCAA punishment will severely damage their economy). Now the program that these men tried to protect all those years ago is going to suffer the consequences, and hopefully wake some of the cult members on campus and off to reality.

honestly KFC you usually have great articles but you really fucked up with this one. to say that psu students are the most hated is absurd. everybody wants to make this a football issue or a paterno issue or a student issue when in fact its a sandusky issue. this is just another example of the ncaa overstepping their ground and making a decision because they think their fucking all mighty. penn state students didnt do anything. the current players didnt do anything. so why the fuck are they being punished so harshly? i understand the vacation of wins and i could see taking away some scholarships but to take away 40 of them and the bowl games is just stupid and has no point.
