Pitching or Hitting: What Should Cashman Target at Deadline?
Side Note: Cashman’s got the best baby blues in the game.
Simple question: With the trade deadline looming, where do the Yankees need to improve most? Put yourself in Cashman’s shoes for a second. You just left Steinbrenner’s office and that dweeby accountant tells you that you can only go after one guy. Forget specific names, what part of the roster are you trying to improve? Coming off a 4-game sweep at the hands of the surprising Athletics, where both pitching and hitting were mediocre, what’s the move? On one side, the offense has been great at times, but the team looks dreadful when it falls into a power slump. At the same time, however, pitching wins championships.
Vote 1 for Hitting and 10 for Pitching.

another bat, the pitching has been fine, bullpen included. It’s the sudden inconsistentency in the lineup, specifically at the end that might hurt us later
don’t do shit. leave this team alone
If I were Cashman, I’d walk out of Steinbrenner’s office, call el Pres and demand a new Yankee blogger. UR Awful.
Target any All-stars whose contracts are about to expire, trade a few minor leaguers and a bag of balls for them and sign them to a $100 million extension. Business as usual in your team’s effort to collapse every small market team and take an entire sport down with it. So who really cares if it’s a pitcher or a hitter? You have an entire sport to destroy…now get to work!
“pitching wins championships” is a stupid cliche. The Cardinals last year were 1st in the NL in OBP, BA, and Slugging; and 8th in the NL in ERA. Out of the last six world series winners, one (the Giants duh) finished with a better rank in runs allowed than runs scored. It turns out that scoring more runs than the other team wins championships, and it doesn’t matter whether you do that by winning 7-6 or 2-1. I’d expect better from somebody whose job it is to write about baseball you stupid fucking piece of jersey trash.
He should trade for you to die.
