PS – Spare me all the talk about how bad the Mets are and how pathetic it is that I have to rely on individual accoplishments. You think I don’t know that? I know this team sucks more than anybody knows that. But facts are facts – RA Dickey has had an amazing season, and the fact that he’s done it for such a shitty team makes it that much better.

I agree with Kramerica, Cy Young yes, MVP no. However you can’t short-change the value Dickey has brought to the team this year. The Mets are 72-84 right now. Dickey has won 20 of those 72 games for them. That means he is responsible for roughly 28% of their wins. More than a quarter. Take him away, and you’re possibly looking at a 10-win drop for the team. That’s how he is without question the team MVP.
As a Reds fan, I know where you’re coming from, up until recently I was the same way. That being said, if he was a shade under the league leader in ERA, then he would be the league leader in ERA. I think the word you were looking for was OVER.
